Bulk SMS FAQ


1. Can I send Chinese/Japanese character using your Bulk SMS services?

Yes. Our bulk sms supports Alphanumeric and Unicode.


2. Can I send MMS/EMS using your Bulk SMS services?

No. Only text based SMS is supported.


3. How many characters can i send in one SMS?

For Alphanumeric, maximum 160 characters for one SMS. Additional character will appear in 2nd SMS. For Unicode (Chinese/Japanses), 70 characters for one SMS. Additional characters will appear in 2nd SMS.


4. Is failure message being charged?

Yes. SMS Credit will be deducted regardless of success or failed message. M-Village shall not be responsible for any message delivery failures as user has the responsibility to ensure the accuracy of his/her own database.


5. Is there any resend function if the mobile phone not turned on or there is no coverage at that moment?

Yes. The SMSC will resend the SMS within 24 hours.


6. What is the minimum SMS Credits to be purchase/top up?

You may purchase or top up SMS credits as per retail packages listed on our web site. The smallest SMS credits package is 100.


7. Is there any trial account for client to test out the bulk sms services?

Yes. We offer trial SMS account to clients who wish to test the system before making any purchase. You may request for a trial account from our sales department. Each trial SMS account is a given a few credits for testing purpose. Additional credits requested can be purchased at our retail package price.

Premium SMS FAQ


1. What is Premium SMS?

It is an interactive SMS solution. You can receive text from mobile user and reply to them with certain charge rate applied on the mobile user. There are 2 type of service for premium SMS
- Subscription based service (4D Results, Tips, Jokes)
- IOD (Voting, Complain, Contest)


2. How does Premium SMS operate?

Once you've registered to our Premium SMS, you are leasing our gateway access and shared short code with a keyword provided. Short code is the 5 digit number such as 38888, and keyword is the first word on the text message. Usually people will put on their product name or service to do the marketing work out. E.g. Send 'VOTE' to 38888.
You may use premium SMS to offer solutions such as registration, subscription, football tips, voting solutions, feedback services, contest and many more.


3. How many keyword I can have?

There is no restriction. You can buy more than 1 keyword.


4. How long the keyword?

The keyword should be only alphanumeric with no more than 15 characters.


5. What is sub-keywords?

Sub-keyword is the word after Keyword. For instance your keyword is VOTE, you can create VOTE P1, VOTE P2, VOTE P3. VOTE is your keyword. P1, P2 and P3 is your sub-keywords.


6. How many sub-keywords I can create?

You can create as many as you want. It is absolutely 100% free.


7. Do I need to have my own application to run with Premium SMS?

Yes. You need to have SMS application to process your SMS. If you do not have your own application, we are capable of doing customized application for you. Please get in touch with us for details.


8. If I had my own application?

We will provide API gateway for integration. API is a set of instruction on how to integrate with our gateway. We will provide sample codes for integration as well. Any web based language can integrate with our SMS Gateway, such as PHP, .NET, Java.

1. Is it necessary to have a discussion arranged before any MSC Malaysia-status submission?

Yes. This is to ensure that the submission meets all the application criteria and all documents required are completed. We would be more than delighted to have you see us.


2. What are the documents required for the application submission?

i. 3 copies of business plan (hardcopy)
ii. Application form
iii. ROC - form 9, 24, 49 and 13/32A (if any) documents
iv. 3 years audited report of substantial stakeholders of the company
v. A non-refundable processing fee of RM2,000 payable to Multimedia Development Corporation Sdn Bhd


3. Is the RM 2,000 application fee refundable?

Regardless of whether a company receives MSC Malaysia status or not, the application fee is not refundable.


4. What are the MSC Malaysia-designated Cybercities?

5. Why must we relocate to the designated cybercities?

Locating the MSC Malaysia-status company`s headquarters and /or principal work activities of the MSC Malaysia-qualifying activities in an MSC Malaysia-designated cybercity within six months from the date of the approval Cyberjaya, is one of the conditions imposed to MSC Malaysia-status companies to maintain this preferential status.

MSC Malaysia-status companies are also ensured of full benefits of Bill of Guarantee no. 1 by residing in one of the designated cybercities. These cybercities offer the conducive IT and multimedia environment that will attract and retain the knowledge community.

Besides that, companies located in the designated cybercities can benefit from the most advanced telecommunication technologies with 99.9% guaranteed reliability - where service disruptions will not exceed 43 minutes per month.

Providers for the designated cybercities also offer performance guarantees with financial penalties should they fail to observe the above reliability.


6. After MSC Malaysia status is awarded to a company, when does the company begin to enjoy the tax exemption?

There are two case scenarios in this matter :

If your company has generated its first sales invoice before it receives MSC Malaysia status, Pioneer Status will begin with immediate effect.

If your company has received MSC Malaysia status, but has not generated sales as of the date it receives MSC Malaysia status, Pioneer Status will begin effective from the date of your first sales invoice.


7. Kindly advise on the details on tax exemption and the qualifying capital expenditure for an MSC Malaysia status company.

MSC Malaysia status companies may opt for either :
i. Pioneer Status (PS), OR
ii. Investment Tax Allowance (ITA)

The qualifying capital expenditures are:
i. Hardware and software
ii. Purchasing and / or renovation of building / office
iii. Expenditure for greenery in Cyberjaya - plants and machinery


8. My company has been in operation for more than 1 year. Can I apply under the existing entity?

Yes. However, you may not enjoy the 100% tax exemption (if you are opting for pioneer status). We would calculate a threshold amount - which is an average of your past years net profit before tax amount (maximum of 3 years). Tax exemption only applies to the amount above your threshold. You would still require paying tax for the threshold amount.


9. Are Enterprise entities allowed to apply for the MSC Malaysia Status?

No. Applicants must be incorporated as 'Sdn Bhd'.


10. What is the percentage of Knowledge Workers (KW) required for a MSC company and is there any restriction on numbers of Foreign Knowledge Workers to be employed?

Percentage of Knowledge Workers (KW) required for a MSC Malaysia Status Company is at 15% and there's no restriction on numbers of Foreign Knowledge Workers.


11. How do you classify knowledge workers and do you have a template for reference?

Knowledge Workers (also known as KWs) can be classified as follows:
They are directly involved in technical development and deployment of products and services. They should possess the following qualifications:
i. Five or more years of professional experience in multimedia / ICT industry.
ii. A university degree or a diploma in multimedia / ICT discipline plus two or more years of related working experience.
iii. A masters degree or higher in any discipline.
iv. As a reference, you may use the template found in the MSC Malaysia Application Guidelines and Form.
